Announcement via Yale School of Music:
Today, we’re pleased to share the first half of a project called Collaboration Reimagined, in which current students and alumni from the Yale School of Music's composition program introduce new works in collaboration with and physically distanced from Yale colleagues. These new works would have been presented on the school’s New Music New Haven series.
“When NMNH’s final composer concert for the 2019-2020 series was canceled in light of COVID-19,” faculty composer and New Music New Haven Artistic Director Aaron Jay Kernis explained, “I felt it was vital to continue our composer and performer collaborations in a final project for the year. These 13 presentations of new and recent compositions are the timely result."
Here are performances of new works by composers Joel Thompson '20MMA, Frances Pollock '19MM '25DMA, Peter Shin '20MMA, Soomin Kim '21MM, Linda Dallimore '21MMA, and Miles Van Walter '18BA '20MM.
We’ll share the second half of the program on Thursday. Enjoy.
